Editor's Comment
I am happy to announce the release of the PNG Journal of Education Volume 43, 2023. In this edition, we have four papers and one article review from educationists and linguists from both the national and international community.
It is also my pleasure to announce to the readership of the PNGJE that we have included a new page in this publication going forward. It is called. “Teachers’ Voices”. This special page allows teachers to share their views not only on educational challenges, but also successes they have gained or witnessed. In this first publication we feature Mr. Rupa Maino of June Valley Early Childhood Centre in Port Moresby and Ms Rose Kemo of the University of PNG Early Childhood Centre who join us by sharing their experiences and challenges on the recently introduced ECE program.
All papers are centered around current education issues that PNG is currently experiencing starting off with early literacy in a mother tongue, followed by a paper on early childhood education. The remaining two papers are; hierarchical linear modeling of the impact of student and school characteristics on Grade 10 students’ achievements in Papua New Guinea, and Unpacking the Epistemology Divide. The last of the papers in this publication is an Article Review on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) curriculum.
Happy reading!
